Hulk Hogan: I was asked to join Metallica

Wrestler-turned-reality TV star Hulk Hogan has sensationally revealed he was once asked to consider joining Metallica.

The beloved WWF star was a session musician before he turned to the ring, and he admits his career almost took a very different path.

He tells The Sun newspaper, "I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out."

His love for music never left him and Hogan admits he has always been a huge fan of reunited British group the Stone Roses, revealing he used to work out to their songs.

He adds, "I love the Stone Roses. They're getting back together, right? That's cool, man."
